Hi, I’m Steve Milford.
I didn't start selling real estate for a job - I started because I wanted to save $$$.
In 2014, my ex-wife and I decided to do that divorce thing. We were technically broke, and as some would say, "We didn't have two dimes," but we had lots of debt.
The only real asset we had was the house, so in deciding to sell, we knew we needed as much money as possible. Yet, because of our debt, we didn't have extra money to spend and needed to save every last dime. Proceeds were to pay off the debt - not really find a new future.
As I was interviewing agents, all told me some version of, "Fix this, or fix that - improve, improve, improve before putting it on the market - NOT selling it as-is." I was already BROKE, I needed all the money I could keep - not to spend more $$.
So I decided to sell my home, myself, as I sold have sold lots of things - it was just a few more 000s.
It wasn't without problems, most of which stem from how the industry is built, and the fact that professionals didn't want to talk to me because I didn't have "an agent".
So, I decided that I would NOT be that person that would stop someone, like me, in their tracks. And here we are today.
I offer a pragmatic, practical, realistic, efficient, sensible, and matter-of-fact perspective on real estate. Whether buying or selling, I help people keep more of their money. That's my mission statement.
-----
Once I was licensed, my first step was to get some experience. My first buyer, was myself, completing the purchase on my own home.
Think of the beauty of it - buying a house and then getting a check for commission for that process.
And then I just kept offering to help people, to everyone I met.
No one gave me a hand-out - no team gave me leads. I just went into my community and tried to help as many people as I could in a fashion that I could.
In 2016, I had a friend ask me to help him buy in Tigard, OR. So, I got licensed in Oregon.
My model is to dig deep into problems and try to figure them out.
Along the way, many people have told me that I know more about lending, versus the average Realtor. With this feedback, I decided to become mortgage loan officer for an independent brokerage house in 2024 and 2025.
I have since pulled away from that avenue, but it allowed me a view into their world and how some lenders make it harder than it needs to be.
My end goal is not just more sales...it is to educate and empower people—so they can make informed decisions about one of the biggest purchases of their lives. Not just based on one option or one way, but with all the possibilities on the table. I love helping people with their housing.
Today, I help clients by providing education, clear communication, and real choices.
If you’re ready to explore your options, give me a call. I’m here to help.
I offer a pragmatic, practical, realistic, efficient, sensible, and matter-of-fact perspective on real estate. Whether buying or selling, I help people keep more of their money.
Have a stellar day! Let me know if I can help you.
